About me
My training over the years has mostly been in what is called Humanistic-Integrative counselling and psychotherapy. More recently, I have also become more interested in relational ways of working and how our relationship in the therapy is often a reflection of current and past relationships. It is within this context that I aim to help an individual understand and work through the issues they are bringing and their relationship with themselves and others.

Further experience and qualifications
I have worked in private practice for 18 years and continue to do so, offering long and short term counselling and psychotherapy, over a wide range of issues.
I provide time-limited counselling to clients from EAP schemes.
Counsellor for students in Further and Higher Education for 14 years (1993-2007)
Counselling Development Worker in an adolescent counselling agency for 7 years (1992-1999).
BSc Hons Social Sciences (Health) 1990-1993 (North London University)
Counselling and Attachment Certificate 2006
Foundation Certificate in CBT 2009

The sorts of issues that I do or have worked with are:
Abuse (emotional, physical, sexual), Anxiety, Attachment, Bereavement, Bullying, Cultural Awareness and/or Alienation, Depression, Existential Issues, HIV/AIDS, Low Self-Esteem and Low Self-Confidence, Racism, Relating and Relationships, Self and Identity, Sexuality, Sexual Identity, Sexual Issues, Shame, Stress, Work Related Issues. This is a snap-shot of some of the areas that I do or have worked with, but is not an exhaustive list. Please contact me if you want any further clarification.

What to do now:
I offer all potential clients a free half hour introductory session, without commitment at this stage. This enables us to meet, for you to say what is concerning you, and for us also to discuss professional practice issues around confidentiality, fees, etc, and any questions you may have for me. We would also talk about whether it feels right for us to work together. Other options would also be discussed if appropriate.

Fees
Counselling/Psychotherapy
Individuals - £38 to £48 (depending on income) per 50 minute session.
Couples - £50 per 60 minute session.

Supervision
Privately paying individuals (and/or group) £45 per 50 minutes, £50 per 60 minutes. Organisation funded £50 per 50 minutes, £55 per 60 minutes.
